What I and my Company are About - In a Nutshell
Originally I found my way into IT via the then new world-wide web in 1995, which means basically HTML, and some Perl and Java - later CSS and JavaScript. From there I evolved to network and systems engineering with focus on Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, Exchange and SQL Server. I even held an MSCE+I and CCDP certification once! All along I learned much about IT Security as well - especially, that it usually is not taken seriously enough by business and management.
Later on, my focus switched to the data part of IT, which required to either learn new things or to deepen my knowledge in programming and database technologies, as well as learning how to collect/procure data, clean it, store it, and then analyze it.
Nowadays, I almost exclusively use open-source software, on Linux and FreeBSD to do my work, and heavily rely on Python, PHP and Javascript to do my work.
Before looking for the "right" answers, you have to ask the right question(s). Otherwise, the answer will always be 42.
Once that is reasonably well defined, data acquisition (DAQ) can begin. With data coming from a host of different sources and in different formats.
As I have pointed out, I am technology agnostic. While having worked a lot with Microsoft products, I nowadays mostly work with open-source software. In general, I choose the technoglogy, or programming language most appropriate to requirements and customer needs.
I am quite versatile and can do many things that I am not specialised in, for example, while I normally don't do much webdesign, I sometimes dvelve into it anyways. However, my main services are:
As mentioned, there is a free offering on my geopolitics work on my social media channels, and my blog.
The pricing for the subscription based offering depends on whether you are looking for a standarised service, which is the same for all subscribers or if you want a highly customisable newsletter-style offering. The pricing for the latter is highly dependent on the type of project or work requested and the skills level involved, thus it's best to request an offer for your specific needs.
However, to give you a rough idea: I usually charge between CHF 250 to 450 per hour of work.
